The Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urbanism  [EPAU]  was created in 1970. Designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer, it is located in the municipality of El Harrach, east of Algiers. It reinforces the already established university pole, which includes the National Institute of Agriculture, the Veterinary School, the École Polytechnique and the university campus Bouraoui Amar. In 2016, the EPAU was named after the Moudjahid Hocine Ait Ahmed.
