The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) is participating in the FAO-led Africa Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (ACSAM) at the Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania, from 3 to 6 February 2026. The conference reawakened a deep reflection on the pathway to Africa’s mechanization through supportive policies and the building of local capacity.

The KM4AgD Community of Practice (CoP) officially kicked off its 2026 webinar series with a highly engaging virtual session focused on strengthening the link between Knowledge Management (KM) and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) for evidence-driven agricultural development. The webinar, held on 29 January 2026, brought together KM practitioners, M&E specialists, researchers, policymakers, and development partners from across Africa and beyond.

The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and Farrelly & Mitchell today held a high-level strategic meeting at the FARA Headquarters in Accra, Ghana, to advance discussions on a forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at jointly mobilising resources to technically advance projects that address high-priority challenges and opportunities with a special focus on the Common African Agro-Parks (CAAPs) Programme.
Dr Namukolo Covic leads CGIAR’s Liaison Office for Africa

In this strategic role, Dr Covic will support the CGIAR Continental Champion for Africa — a rotational role currently held by Dr Simeon Ehui, Director General of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) — in advancing CGIAR’s mission to deliver science and innovation that transform food, land, and water systems across Africa.
