Mission:

The Institute and Observatory of Geophysics of Antananarivo or IOGA is dedicated to teaching and research activities in the field of Earth Sciences and ensures observatory tasks defined at national and international level (observations in seismology, terrestrial magnetism, meteorology, and astronomy).

Activities:

The research developed by the IOGA laboratories includes fundamental and applied aspects. They concern the continental and oceanic crusts, the mantle and the lithosphere / asthenosphere, the lower atmosphere and the surface of the earth. The research themes currently being developed at IOGA contribute to the resolution of at least a significant part of the scientific and / or economic interest issues documented in various projects. IOGA, in collaboration with national and foreign organizations, contributes to the development of the country through the continuation and improvement of its activities.
