IH.SM was created in 1992 (ministerial decree n ° 92/1026 of 09/12/92) following the merger of 3 entities: the Marine Station (since 1961), the Oceanic Applied sector ( since 1975) and the Fisheries Training Unit (since 1988). Its mission is Training and Research in Marine Science, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Marine and Coastal Environment.
The IH.SM is responsible in particular for the Training of the Senior Technicians - Halieutic Engineers and Oceanographers Biologists (License, Masters and Doctorate). In addition, it can ensure the recycling of company agents according to their needs.
