Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics
The Subregional Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (ISSEA) is a specialized institution of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC).
Created in 1984 in Brazzaville, by the Conference of Heads of State of UDEAC, now CEMAC, the Institute is headquartered in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
It is therefore an Inter-State public institution with legal personality and financial autonomy.
As a result, it is subject to public international law as well as to any regulation developed in application of this right and the provisions of its organic texts.
The purpose of the institute is:
A. the training of middle and senior level statisticians, able to:
- collect, process, disseminate and use statistical information;
- study and analyze any economic file;
- design and implement survey programs;
- to analyze and analyze the results of the said surveys;
- develop and use economic accounts and development programs;
- organize, administer and direct a statistical competence service;
B. the development and retraining of national and regional public and private service managers
C. applied research in the fields of methodology, collection, processing and analysis of statistical and economic information, including studies and consultations with other public or private, national or regional bodies.
