Placed under the technical supervision of the Ministry in charge of livestock and the financial supervision of the Ministry in charge of finances, the National Veterinary Laboratory (LANAVET), is a company with public capital created in 1983.
LANAVET employs 75 people including 12 managers, 20 supervisors and 43 skilled workers; it is located 14 kilometers from Garoua, on the road to Ngaoundéré and covers an area of ​​1,200 hectares.
The missions of LANAVET are:

  • Production and marketing of vaccines and drugs;
  • The analysis of biological samples in order to make the diagnosis;
  • The study of animal diseases;
  • Surveillance of epizootic diseases;
  • Training of managers and technicians;
  • Scientific collaboration with national and international organizations
