The School of Agriculture and Food Security is tasked with developing manpower in Agriculture for national Agricultural development and food security. It has a team of highly qualified staff including 8 PhDs, five of whom are Professors. It has over 50 acres of  research land and field laboratories
The school comprises of four academic departments with various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes namely:
1. Department of Applied Plant Sciences 
2. Department of Soil Science
3. Department of Animal Science
4. Department of Agricultural Economics & Rural Development

Under these departments, the School has various Undergraduate, Masters and PhD programmes in:

• Horticulture
• Agronomy
• Animal Science
• Soil Science and Plant Nutrition
• Agribusiness Management
