Created by the episcopal decree of 1996, the University Notre-Dame du Kasayi belongs to a process whose idea was born, first of all, from the need of a real university for the youth and the population of Kasayi and, afterwards, concern for the bishops of this part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to provide the region with a true institution of university education, rooted in the soil and likely to give those who attend it a solid academic, scientific and human to the concerns of the man of today and useful to society and public life of Congolese.
