Université Joseph Kasa-Vubu
The creation of the President Kasa-Vubu University in the city of Boma filled a huge void in the western part of the most populated province of Bas-Congo. A privileged city for basic education, Boma has a long and distinguished history in this field. It dates back to 1890 for basic education, 1961 for higher education and 1990 for an embryo of university education.Boma, for a very long time a veritable nursery for an elite originating from the various regions of the Congo, thanks to the development of its teaching network, had, by a normal evolution, to lead to the emergence of a university, which is the extension of this primary and secondary education through high quality university and university education. All our past history of primary and secondary education and all previous attempts at higher and university education have made the people of this country feel more and more the thirst for a complete, stable and secure university. This awareness was revived by the decision of Kongo University (UK) to close its Boma and Matadi campuses. This awareness was expressed in a first assembly held at the teachers' plateau at the University of Kinshasa .
