The Zambia Agricultural Research Institute (ZARI) is an agency of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of Zambia, and is the largest agricultural research entity in the country. ZARI, comprised of 10 research stations, aims to develop and adopt crop, soil and plant protection technologies and to provide high quality, appropriate and cost-effective services to farmers. Principal activities of ZARI include farming systems studies analyzing the current constraints to adoption of proposed technologies and examination of long-term threats and opportunities to rural farming systems.
