The Research Institute for Development (IRD) is a French research organization, original and unique in the European landscape of research for development.
Focusing on interdisciplinarity, the IRD has been focusing its research for more than 65 years on the relationship between humans and their environment in Africa, the Mediterranean, Latin America, Asia and the French Tropical Overseas Territories.
Its research, training and innovation activities aim to contribute to the social, economic and cultural development of the South.
 
The National Museum of Natural History (MNHN), a public institution of scientific, cultural and professional character is placed under the double supervision of the ministers in charge of higher education and ecology.
The Museum bases its scientific activity on a strong interdisciplinarity, associating to the essential themes of biodiversity and evolution the human and social sciences, and supports this research on the great exceptional equipment that constitute its immense collections in natural sciences. As one of the leading players in the field of natural sciences in France, he has developed numerous partnerships with research organizations.
