Since its creation, the Higher Institute of Statistics of Kinshasa pursues among others the following missions:

• Train senior managers in management sciences to create, manage and use numerical information for the preparation of economic, social and cultural decisions concerning the nation, region or enterprise;
• Ensuring for the State, public authorities and public and private companies, consultations and studies for the realization of their projects;
• Promote and encourage basic and applied research oriented towards solving the specific problems of the DRC and elsewhere;
• Organize scientific days, symposiums, national and international workshops;
• Encourage students to develop an interest in scientific and technological research.
